A new festival is coming to Amherstburg this September.

The Amherstburg Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday a new regional Harvest Festival to be held at the Fort Malden National Historic Site of Canada on Sept. 9-11.

Chamber officials say it will celebrate the rich agricultural heritage and local food and drink producers, promote a growing industry of locally grown food, craft beer, fruit and grape wines, distilleries and thoughtfully resourced restaurants.

“The Amherstburg Chamber of Commerce is to be commended for stepping forward and creating a Windsor Essex Harvest Festival to celebrate local food and drink,” said Gordon Orr, CEO of Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, in a news release.

Tim Ternosky, president of the Amherstburg Chamber of Commerce, says they believe that holding premier events such as the Harvest Fest, will allow them to celebrate the efforts of all local, engaged businesses within the region.
