Essex firefighters battled a ‘suspicious’ fire that destroyed a large shed in Harrow Thursday night.

Crews were called to the blaze in the 2000 block of County Rd 20 around 7:20 p.m. The building served as a fruit market.

The fire was deemed suspicious by Essex Fire and the Ontario Fire Marshal was contacted.

There were no reported injuries.

Roosters Farm Market posted on its Facebook page Friday morning that “Due to a fire, Roosters will be going under some renovations this spring, but we will still be open for business hope to see you all there in the summer.”

An OFM investigator is attending the scene today.

The Essex County OPP Crime Unit will work in conjunction with the OFM to determine the cause of the fire.
