Windsor police are searching for a suspect after a man allegedly fired a handgun during a convenience store robbery.

On Thursday, officers were called to the Sunny Variety convenience store in the 1300 block of Prince Road, around 8:25 a.m. in response to an armed robbery.

Investigators say surveillance video shows the suspect producing a handgun and giving a plastic bag over to the clerk. Police say the suspect then appears to discharge the weapon once into the ceiling.

Officers attending the scene discovered a dent in the ceiling and a pellet on the floor.

The suspect is described as a 20-year-old white or Arabic man, standing 5’6” tall and weighing about 150 pounds, with a slender build, brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
