The grandmother of the four young children allegedly left unattended in an Amherstburg bar parking lot earlier this month has also been charged.

Amhertsburg police say the grandma was ‘drinking and partying’ with her daughter inside Shooter’s Road House on Saturday night, July 6 and extending into early Sunday morning.

The oldest child was nine and the youngest was two.

Shooter's owner Tim Good quickly went out to assess the situation after he says a customer had heard the sound of a baby crying coming from a car in the parking lot.

"I couldn't believe someone would do such a thing," says Good. “The window was down, partially down, it allowed me to talk to the children through the window and make sure that they were okay."

Good called police.

The kids’ mother, Jennifer North, was charged last week with four counts of abandoning a child.

Police say the additional charges for the grandma come as result of the investigation.

Patricia North, 64, of Windsor is also facing four counts of abandoning a child.

Both women will appear in court on Aug. 6.
