A fundraiser is planned for a seven-year-old girl who was burned in a house fire last month.
The girl and her mother were both injured on Oct. 24 after police say a home on Balfour Boulevard was intentionally set on fire.
The girl suffered the worst burns and was rushed to a London hospital. Her condition has now been upgraded to fair.
Police have arrested and charged Kenneth Kormendy with that arson.
Friends of the Rueda family have organized a pasta fundraiser for this Saturday at the Teutonia club.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and there are still about 100 tickets left.
Organizers say they hope to raise about 10,000 for the family. There’s also a GoFundMe account, which raised over $2,000 as of Tuesday afternoon.
