The company who supplied non-compliant girders for the Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway has filed court proceedings against the Windsor Essex Mobility Group and Parkway Infrastructure Constructors, according to spokesperson Cindy Prince.

Prince Tells CTV News, Freyssinet has initiated a lawsuit against her group and PIC. The decision comes just over a month after 500 girders were rejected by the WEMG, following a review by a committee of independent experts. The Ministry of Transportation assembled that committee.

“We have heard from the supplier that they have commenced a law suit and so it is all now in litigation,” says Prince.

CTV’s calls to Freyssinet for comment Tuesday so far have gone unreturned.

“We’re not letting it interfere or slow down this construction process,” says Prince.

Of those 500 girders, 288 have been installed along the parkway. Removal of the girders in-question started Tuesday at tunnel five and tunnel seven.
