Windsor police have laid charges in connection to allegations of sexual offences that started in the 1970’s.

In April, officers were contacted by a man who alleges his former coach conducted inappropriate behaviour when he was a youth.

Police say their investigation determined that the allegations occurred between 1977 and 1980, when the victim was between the ages of 11 and 14. The victim informed police that the accused coached him in youth hockey and baseball in Windsor.

On July 10, police arrested and charged Robert Shaw, 57, with two counts of gross indecency.

Unrelated, Shaw was charged in March for allegedly assaulting a minor in 1989.

Anyone with further information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
