After weeks of speculation, a former Windsor mayor has announced his intention for the city’s top job.

John Millson confirms to CTV Windsor that he will file his papers Friday morning at Windsor city hall in a bid to become the next mayor. Millson alluded to his intentions earlier Thursday morning, at the grand opening of the St. Clair College Sportsplex.

Millson was Windsor mayor from 1988 to 1991, but didn’t seek re-election at the end of his term.

He joins Ernie The Baconman, Drew Dilkens, Timothy Dugdale, Robin Easterbrook, Larry Horwitz, Henry Lau, Raymound Poisson and Mike Tessier, as candidates for the mayor’s chair.
