A flood of drifting trees branches slowly makes its way to Lake St.Clair but not before one final stop in Lighthouse Cove.

The seasonal jam of logs and wood is a perennial problem for the tiny Essex County community, whose summer depends on clearing the Thames River waterway.

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority says there is still concern about the ongoing spring melt this year, adding changing weather conditions could ramp up flood risks and bring more debris downstream.

With precautions already in place just to be safe, residents are told more log removal can be expected in the warmer months.
