A flood watch has been issued Essex County.

The Essex Region Conservation Authority says an estimated 25 mm to 40 mm of rain is predicted to fall over the next 24 hours.

As a result, the possibility for flooding exists in low lying areas and along bodies of water. The potential is even greater as  isolated downpours have already created wet ground conditions.

A system is expected to hit Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent late Wednesday afternoon.
