A flood watch has been issued by The Essex Region Conservation Authority.

In a statement Friday, ERCA said due to frozen ground condition, packed snow and forecast precipitation, low lying areas run the risk of flooding.

ERCA says roughly 20 mm of precipitation is forecast to fall on the region over the next 12 to 36 hours.

The areas most likely to be affected are those where drainage facilities are impacted by snow drifting and ice.

The watch is in affect through the weekend.
