Residents of a Bruce Avenue home were able to escape after a fire broke out in basement Thursday evening.
Fire crews responded to the blaze on Bruce Ave. near Ellis St. around 8:30 p.m.
Upon arrival smoke and flames were visible, but firefighters were able to bring the fire under control quickly.
A fire investigator attended the scene to investigate and determined that cause was an electrical failure in the service panel.
Damage to the home is set at $75,000. Two people and their dog have been displaced.
