Here’s a list of what is open and closed in Windsor for the Family Day holiday on Monday, Feb. 18:

-CITY OF WINDSOR offices will be closed. The next city council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19 in council chambers at city hall.

-THE 311 CALL CENTRE will be closed on Monday, February 18. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, Feb. 19 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

-THE 211 CALL CENTRE will be open 24 hours on Monday to serve residents throughout Windsor and Essex County.

-GARBAGE & RECYCLING COLLECTIONS: There will be no residential collection services on Monday, Feb.18. All residential garbage and recycling collection services will be delayed by one day. Night commercial, front end loader and weekly recycling collections are not delayed.

-PUBLIC DROP-OFF & HOUSEHOLD CHEMICAL WASTE DEPOTS located at the northeast corner of Central Avenue and E.C. Row will be closed on Monday, Feb. 18. The depots will reopen on Tuesday.

-PARKS AND RECREATION: All arenas remain open for regular rentals, plus South Windsor Recreation Complex offers free Public Skating from 9 am -10:50 am sponsored by Fahrhall. Adie Knox Herman Recreation Complex offers a public swim from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. – regular fees apply. All other community centres are closed except for rentals by prior arrangement. Free public skating continues at Charles J. Clark Square and Lanspeary Outdoor Rink, weather permitting. All rentals in Parks and Recreation facilities continue as scheduled.

-PARKING ENFORCEMENT: There will be no municipal parking enforcement on Monday, Feb. 18 and municipal ticket payment offices will be closed as well.

-WINDSOR PUBLIC LIBRARY: All locations of the Windsor Public Library will be closed on Monday, Feb. 18. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

-WINDSOR’S COMMUNITY MUSEUM is normally closed on Mondays. There will be no special closures for this holiday.

-TRANSIT WINDSOR: City buses will run on the Sunday/Holiday schedule on Monday, Feb. 18. The Tunnel Bus will operate on a weekday schedule.

 

The following municipal offices and facilities will be closed in Chatham-Kent for Family Day on Monday Feb. 18:

-All Community Municipal Centres and Information Desks throughout Chatham-Kent

-Building, Enforcement and Licensing Services

-Chatham Cultural Centre Box Office and Administrative Offices

-Health & Family Services Building - offices of Ontario Works, Social Housing, and Children’s Services

-Chatham-Kent Energy, Hydro & Utility Services office

-Chatham-Kent Visitor Information Centre and RM Classic Car Exhibit are closed for the Family Day holiday

-CK Transit services will not be operating

-Economic Development Services and Chatham-Kent Small Business Centre  

-Garbage and recycling collection services will be delayed by one day for the entire week for all areas receiving curbside collection.

-Harwich Transfer Station, Wallaceburg Transfer Station and Chatham Leaf & Yard Depot

-May Court and Wallaceburg Childcare Learning Centres

-Park Avenue Business Centre - offices of Recreation Programs; Municipal Properties; Parks, Cemeteries and Horticulture; Fleet administration and Public Works administration

-Provincial Offences Court

-Public Utilities Commission office

 

Here is a list of what will be open in Chatham-Kent on Family Day:

-Public Health Services are available on Family Day and the Chatham Grand Avenue office is open, but the Clinic Services office is closed and Nursing Services will not be available.

-All Public Works garages

-Arenas are open for regular bookings and a Family Day skating schedule is available at www.chatham-kent.ca.

-Cemetery staff will be on call to handle cemetery business for funeral home operations

- The Gable Rees Rotary Pool is offering free Family Swims from 10:30AM-12:00PM and 1:00PM-2:30PM, and a free Adult Swim from 12:00PM-1:00PM. The Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool is offering a free Family Swim from 1:00PM-2:30PM.

-Public libraries in Chatham-Kent are operating regularly scheduled hours -Chatham, Highgate, Merlin, Ridgetown, Tilbury and Wallaceburg are open.

-Riverview Gardens Long Term Care Home - visiting hours will continue as normal but administrative offices will be closed.

-Thames Art Gallery and Chatham-Kent Museum will open 1:00 – 5:00 PM on the holiday Monday.
