The 14th annual Face to Face Campaign for the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County was a resounding success.

More than $84,000 was raised for the Fairley Family Transportation Program.

The goal was to raise $65,000 and John Fairley, the founder of the campaign, says he is thrilled with this year’s support.

The money will cover the cost of about 6,500 rides each year for patients and their caregivers to attend different programs and medical appointments.

Executive Director Carol Derbyshire tells CTV Windsor the extra money that was raised will allow them to replace a 10-year-old van.

Derbyshire says they have been talking to Unifor, and the union has said it plans to give the hospice a good deal on a new vehicle.
