The province is giving over $2.8 million to expand access to health care services across the Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network.

The funding will support two initiatives in Windsor-Essex, including a low back pain management program which is receiving $330,000.

It will be at the Essex County Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic in partnership with City Centre Health Care in Windsor. Officials say it will help residents, including seniors, access programs supported by physiotherapists at the same place where they receive primary health care services.

“By continuing to invest in local health care services in Chatham-Kent, Sarnia-Lambton and Windsor-Essex, our government is helping people access better home care, community services and mental health supports,” says Deb Matthews, MPP London North Centre. “So they can recover, live independently and receive appropriate care when they need it.”

Another part of the initiative includes enhancing rehab services at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Leamington District Memorial Hospital and Windsor Regional Hospital and Bluewater Health.
