Environment Canada is investigating a possible tornado touchdown in the Colchester South Township area.

Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says investigators are currently trying to piece together what caused a barn to take heavy damage during Tuesday night’s storm. They’re pleading with the public for photos that may show a notable track of damage in the area of 3rd Concession, near Ferris Road.

Elsewhere in the county, hundreds of homeowners are still without power. Hydro One estimates the lights should be turned back on by 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. In Windsor, trees and power lines came down – no injuries are reported.

Environment Canada warned a system moving into the region could develop into a dangerous thunderstorm that might be capable of producing damaging winds, hail and heavy rain.
