CTV News told you earlier this month that the Windsor Essex Catholic School Board has hired more than 40 new teachers this year.

There's more good news for the board - enrolment is up.

Trustees with the board last night heard enrolment is higher than expected.

There are about 13,050 elementary students and nearly 7300 high school students in catholic schools.

The board was initially projecting a drop of about 800 students.

If you break the numbers down even further, superintendent Terry Lyons tells AM800 there are more JK students compared to SK students.
