It was a run for Rocky.

Rocky Campana is a young man who took his own life last summer, and Sunday they held a five kilometre run and walk in his memory.

After Rocky's passing, his organs weren't eligible for donation and the Campana family believes it's because he was gay.

Rocky's sister, Kristen Campana, says the outpouring of support made this day an emotional rollercoaster for the family.

"It's really exciting," says Kristen Campana. "It makes me happy."

Rocky's father Rob Campana was also caught up in the emotion of the day.

"I feel excited and overwhelmed," he says.

Rocky Campana committed suicide last August. He was 23-years-old.

He was in hospital for two days before he was taken off life support.
The Campana family is now collecting signatures to be sent to the House of Commons, calling for homosexuals to be able to donate their organs if deemed by doctors as healthy.
