An 83-year-old man was not hurt after getting hit by a Via Rail train while cutting grass Wednesday morning.
Chatham-Kent police say it happened around 10:30 a.m. west of Kent Bridge Road and Northwood Line.
The train was traveling eastbound when it clipped the John Deere lawnmower. The man was wearing ear protection while cutting grass and did not hear the train coming, say police.
Damage to the lawnmower has been estimated at $1500.
A new crew was brought aboard to continue with the train’s scheduled route.
Police have concluded their investigation and no charges will be laid.
Some passengers took to Twitter to talk about the delay on the train travelling between Windsor and Toronto.
