An 84-year-old driver has died after a pickup truck crashed into the back of the Mexican Consulate in Leamington.
Provincial police say Ronald Graham, of Leamington, has died from injuries sustained in the single vehicle crash that occurred just before 5:30 p.m. at the Consulate which is located in the 300 block of Highway 77.
Police say a black Dodge pickup truck was westbound on Essex Round 33 when it left the roadway and travelled through a bean field before hitting the back wall of the Consulate.
The lone male driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say no one was inside the Consulate at the time of the collision.
The circumstances and cause of the crash are under investigation.
