A road near the entrance to the Ambassador Bridge was closed after a transport truck flipped onto its side.

Windsor Police were called out to Patricia Road and Union Street when a Volvo tractor and the trailer rolled over onto its right side before 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The 34-year-old Windsor driver managed to walk away unharmed.

He was charged with careless driving – and police believe speed was mitigating factor.

The owner of the truck says the trailer was hauling empty crates.

Still, police estimate total damage at $35,000.

The section of road reopened around two and half hours later.
