A dog stolen from the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society adoption centre has been found.

Sado was located around 4 p.m. Tuesday at a Windsor park by a woman and returned her.

Humane society official Melanie Coulter says Sado was last seen around 12:30 p.m. Sunday during adoption hours.

She went missing around 2:15 p.m.

Coulter sent out a media release Tuesday asking for the publics help in locating Sado.

Coulter believes those responsible for the crime heard Sado was microchipped and decided to let her go in fear they would be caught.

Coulter says this is unusual crime.

"Fortunately it's not something that happens often, most of the people coming here have great intentions."

No word who took the dog.
