Chatham-Kent police are looking for witnesses after a cyclist was struck by a passing motorist on Thursday morning.

Officials say the cyclist was eastbound on Park Avenue East when the collision happened just after 6 a.m.

The rider, a 52-year-old Chatham man, was found lying on the gravel shoulder and transported to a local hospital, but was soon airlifted to a Windsor hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The investigation into the crash continues.
