One man has been arrested after several customers foiled a west Windsor robbery.

According to Windsor police, officers were called to the Mac’s convenience store in the 300 block of Mill Street on a robbery call, around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday. Officers were informed that a man entered the store; demanding cash and cigarettes from the employee.

The suspect allegedly told the clerk that he had a firearm and made a threat to the employee if he called police. During this time, several customers entered the store and the suspect fled the scene with nothing.

Responding officers reviewed surveillance video and were able to identify the suspect. Around 9 p.m., police attended a home in the 200 block of Bridge Avenue and arrested Mario Veltri.

The 35-year-old is charged with robbery, uttering threats, failure to comply with condition of judicial release and failure to comply with condition of undertaking to officer.
