Chatham-Kent OPP say a 31-year-old Toronto man has been charged with racing after going 186 kilometres per hour on Highway 401.

An officer was conducting radar enforcement at 10 p.m. on Friday on the 401 near Orford Road.

An eastbound Toyota Corolla appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/h. According to the officer, the radar registered speeds up to 186 km/h. 

The driver was charged with racing. His driver’s licence was suspended and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
