The Windsor-Essex Health Unit has issued a cold weather alert for the region.
Environment Canada is forecasting temperatures at -15 C Saturday and -19 C Sunday, not including the wind chill.
As a result Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Allen Heimann has issued a cold weather alert. He warns exposure to these extreme temperatures could result in hypothermia or frost bite.
The cold weather alert is in effect until Monday morning.
