A Chatham man has been charged following a month long child pornography investigation.

A search warrant was executed at a Chatham residence on Dec. 11 by OPP officers. As a result of the investigation, two computers were seized which they allege contained images of child sexual abuse.

Also located during the search was a quantity of prohibited firearms that they say were unsafely stored.

On Dec. 13, the suspect was stopped by Canadian border service agents while returning to Canada. A search of his vehicle turned up a computer and external storage device. CBSA says these devices contained images of child sexual abuse.

Police have charged 40-year-old Troy Aaron Paul Charron with possession of child pornography, making available child pornography, accessing child pornography, and unsafe storage of a firearm.

Charron will make a court appearance in Chatham on Jan. 7.
