Chatham-Kent police is looking for the public’s help in locating a transport truck that forced a school bus off the road.

Emergency crews were called out to Campbell Road near Concession Line 6 around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Officers were told that an escorted wide-load transport truck forced the school bus off the road.

The bus slid off the gravel edge of the ditch, but the driver managed to keep control and steered the bus into a farmer’s field.

The bus was filled with kids from Old Colony School Board. One child was transported to Leamington District Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The transport truck is described as being dark in colour, and was last seen carrying large steel frames on a flatbed.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
