A K9 member of the Chatham-Kent Police Service has taken home some serious hardware from a U.S. police dog competition.

Const. Rick Bertok and K9 Arry competed in the United States Police Canine Association Region 19 PD1 Competition in Macomb County, MI over the weekend.

While it was the three-year-old Belgian Malinois' first competition, he brought home six awards and a USPCA certification.

The accolades include:

  • first place in searching
  • first place in police obedience
  • first place police dog 1
  • top rookie dog
  • Boris Award for top apprehension dog

Officials with Chatham-Kent police are extending congratulations to Bertok and Arry, and thanking the Windsor Police Service K9 Unit for their ongoing training and support.
