A 45-year-old commercial trucker was arrested after he allegedly tried to smuggle 20 bricks of cocaine across the border at the Ambassador Bridge.

Canada Border Services Agency officers referred the trucker for a secondary examination when he tried to cross on Sept. 16.

CBSA officers seized 24.3 kilograms of cocaine and arrested the individual.

 

The RCMP charged Ashvinder Singh Kundi of Guelph, with possession for the purposes of trafficking and importation of a controlled substance.

He is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
