Fire officials say careless smoking is to blame for a Pelissier Street house fire that caused $150,000 in damage.
Fire crews were called to this house around 10:30 Sunday morning.
Investigators say the started in the basement and quickly spread to the second floor.
Eight residents were inside the residence at the time but managed to escape.
An elderly woman was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.
