Caesars Windsor is taking cautionary steps ahead of a ratification vote Tuesday.

A voice message on the Caesars Windsor phone directory states that the hotel will be temporarily close on Tuesday.

“(Caesars) will not be accepting any new reservations for Tuesday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to Wednesday April 9 at 4 p.m. in preparation of the unlikely event there is an unfavourable outcome from a ratification vote.”

However, the casino floor will remain open.

On Friday, Caesars Windsor and Unifor Local 444 – the union representing 2,300 service staff – reached a tentative agreement after roughly 40 hours of bargaining.

The agreement contains a wage increase and improved benefits. Exact specifics were not released.
