Caesars Windsor says 47 full-time employees and 15 part-time employees received layoff notification on Tuesday morning.

The employees impacted are from finance, transportation and food and beverage departments.

“Staffing reductions are a result of finding efficiencies in departmental processes,” says Kevin Laforet, regional president, Caesars Entertainment and CEO of Caesars Windsor. “This allows us to remain fiscally responsible and ensure our long-term sustainability in a highly competitive market.”

Jhoan Baluyot, manager of communications at Caesars Windsor,  says the majority of the layoffs came from the position of resort cashier, which has been reclassified into other positions.

She says there were 29 full-time and 18 part-time job postings in a variety of areas, including finance and public areas.

The affected employees are able to apply for the new positions, if they want to and if they meet the qualifications.

Baluyot says all the workers being laid off were members of Unifor.

These openings are due in part to reclassification of other jobs, new job openings or normal job fillings.
