DETROIT -- The owner of the Ambassador Bridge is working with Detroit on razing several old industrial buildings.

The Detroit International Bridge Co. says a three-story structure west of downtown on Fort Street is the first target. Ambassador Bridge maintenance facilities will be located at the site.

Three buildings on a second parcel on Fort Street are expected to be torn down in the coming weeks. Both sites are near the bridge, which connects Detroit to Windsor, Ontario, over the Detroit River.

Detroit International Bridge Vice Chairman Matthew Moroun says the partnership with the city shows that corporations and civic leaders can work together to improve Detroit.
