The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has issued a boil-water advisory for a section of east Windsor.

The advisory is for customers from 9225 to 11475 Tecumseh Road East. The boundaries are between Little River and Banwell Road.

EnWin Utilities staff has informed the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit that due to an adverse water sample taken on September 23, the water line serving the affected area could possibly be contaminated.

Water samples indicate a count of five E.Coli and eight total Coliform. These counts are greater than the recommended provincial drinking water quality standards.

The health unit says this is a precautionary advisory with no reported illnesses.

The Health Unit is asking that only bottled water, or water brought to a hard boil for one minute should be used for consumption, or food and ice preparation. For further information on boil water advisories, please visit the Boil Water Advisory webpage.

There have been no illnesses reported to date.

Customers are advised to contact the EnWin Utilities Call Centre at 519-255-2727 for more details about the cause of the advisory.
