Windsor police are investigating after a dead body was found at the scene of a fire in the city’s west end.
According to police, officers, along with Windsor Fire and Rescue Services, responded to the 1000 block of California Avenue around 11:25 a.m. to check on the wellbeing of a resident. Once inside, firefighters discovered the body.
Through their preliminary investigation, officials have determined that a fire happened over night, which has appeared to have extinguished itself. No call was made to 911.
It’s unclear if the death is related to the fire.
Foul play is not suspected.
