Chrysler, Ford and General Motors took big steps Monday at the North American International Auto Show, by expanding on some of their top selling vehicles.

Ford unveiled the next instalment in the top selling F-Series with the brand new F-150 pickup truck. The body of the truck is built almost entirely out of aluminum, shedding close to 700 lbs off the weight of the vehicle.

Fiat continues to make alterations in the North American market, this time with an overhaul of the Chrysler 200. One of the more notable changes, comes from the Alfa Romero based chassis. Like the Dart, Fiat’s first introduction into the Chrysler line-up, the 200 carries a very sleek and curvaceous design. However, the biggest surprise to the 200 is the inclusion of option of two engines, one of which carries a 9 speed automatic transmission.

After winning North America’s Car of the Year earlier Monday morning, GM continued with its Corvette stride, unveiling one of its fastest vehicles to date, the Z06. This Corvette is equipped with a new supercharged LT4 V8 engine, which produces 625 horsepower.

GM took inspiration from the Corvette Racing C6.R, the fastest Corvette ever made.
