Off-Road Vehicles, also known as All-Terrain Vehicles, are allowed on designated roads in Lakeshore for a trial period.

The specified timeframe is 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily and the trial period ends April 30, 2017.

The designated roads are in the Lighthouse Cove and Stoney Point areas.

In April of 2014, Lakeshore Council allowed for Off-Road Vehicle access on town roads for two seasonal trial periods.

This is the final trail period after which council will decide the outcome of the program.

The access is provided for individuals who ice fish and access the lake in the winter months.  The access does not include County Roads in Lakeshore.

Town officials say all vehicles must be licensed, insured and obey all regulations.

Lakeshore promotes the importance of hunting and fishing in the municipality and individuals who participate in the sport.
