If you're a smoker, It just got harder to light up In Amherstburg.

Amherstburg Council voted Monday night to adopt the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit's updated smoking policies.

These include banning smoking tobacco products and vaping in parks, outside recreation centres, and at sporting fields.

Under the new bylaw, smokers must also be at least nine metres away from these facilities to light up.

The changes more closely align with the Smoke-Free Ontario Act.

Amherstburg is the last municipality in Essex County to adopt the smoke-free measures.
