A Kingsville man is facing charges after he allegedly left the scene of a crash while impaired.

OPP officers received a call on Saturday about 6:30 p.m. to Essex County Road 31 at Road 5 in Kingsville, where one vehicle had rear-ended another vehicle and left the scene at a high rate of speed.

A short time later, an officer found the vehicle and driver a short distance from the crash. Police say the driver showed obvious signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.

No one was injured in the crash.

Jacob Dyck, 61, of Kingsville was charged with fleeing while being pursued by a peace officer, failing to stop at scene of accident, driving while disqualified, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, exceeding 80 milligrams of blood alcohol content.

He will appear in a Windsor court in April to answer to the charges.
