Essex OPP say a Harrow man was arrested for impaired driving after fleeing police and hiding in a backyard.
On Friday at 1:15 a.m., officers attempted to speak with the driver of a black Landrover on Jackson Street in Colchester, when they say the driver fled the vehicle on foot.
The officers searched the area, locating the male hiding in a backyard and placed him under arrest.
Ricky Gomes, 55, of Harrow was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, exceed 80 milligrams blood alcohol, flight while pursued by peace officer.
He will appear in a Windsor court on Aug. 30.
