CTV Windsor has learned an investigation took place into an alleged 'brawl' involving Windsor firefighters.

Sources say the alleged incident happened at a workplace event in Detroit, a physical altercation involving at least two firefighters.

The alleged fight may result in suspensions.

Mayor Drew Dilkens says the union has been notified, but as of right now, nobody has been suspended.

A full investigation into the alleged incident was completed by the city, which is in the process of issuing the appropriate discipline, says Dilkens.

“As soon as we found out about it, we commenced our investigation, and we acted on it very quickly,” says city CAO Helga Reidel. “The fire chief is dealing with it and I know he'll do so as expediently as he can do."

Ultimately any disciplinary action is the responsibility of the fire chief.

So far, Windsor fire officials are not commenting on the alleged incident and calls to the union have not been returned.
