An agreement has been reached through mediation between a water rights group and the builders of a wind farm in Chatham-Kent.

A spokesperson with the North Kent Wind Project says an appeal to review a provincial approval was withdrawn.

The appellant, Kevin Jakubec, alleged seismic activity from construction and operation of wind turbines would impact the quality of well water in the Wallaceburg-Dresden area.

The argument was that could in-turn affect the health of users.

While North Kent Wind says it has experts who refute the claim, the company has agreed that it will ship-in water as a contingency plan in the event of an emergency.
