Windsor has been shortlisted for a 500-seat call centre, according to the Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation.

The city is being considered for a new HGS Canada Contact Centre. The next step in the site selection process is a job fair event for the global company.

HGS Canada plans on evaluating the Windsor labour market in hopes of locating hundreds of new jobs in the city. Positions include frontline customer service associates, support and management roles.

The company began researching a number of potential locations across Canada earlier this year.

“We recently assessed several cities in Canada, and our analysis of the City of Windsor is very encouraging” says Ross Beattie, president and CEO of HGS Canada. “Although we are a global company, we pride ourselves on being good local corporate citizens and a community minded employer.”

The new location would be the company’s 12th site.

The Windsor job fair will take place at the Caboto Club at 2175 Parent Avenue, on Friday, Nov. 15 and Saturday, Nov. 16 between 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“We invite everyone to attend this job fair to see and hear all about the potential of working for a stellar company like HGS Canada,” says Sandra Puaptello, president and CEO of the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation.
