Chatham-Kent Provincial Police say an officer discovered a small amount of marijuana in a car pulled over for speeding near Harwich Road on Wednesday afternoon.

The officer pulled over the east bound Ford Flex when radar registered a speed of more than 100 kilometers an hour.

While speaking to the driver the officer determined he had been consuming alcohol.

Later testes indicated the driver was over the legal limit.

Authorities say 27 year old Hope Dube, from Kitchener was been charged with, possession of marijuana, driving while ability impaired, driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood and race a motor vehicle.

The driver’s license was suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days.

The driver is scheduled to appear in a Chatham court on August 28th to answer the charges.
