A two month long comedy festival is kicking off this weekend in Windsor.

Over the next eight weeks, Rockhead’s Comedy Quarry will host the inaugural Border City Comedy Festival.  The first leg in the competition gets underway Friday evening.

Approximately 30 to 40 comedians will take part in the festival, all vying for top comic spot and $5,000. Of those participating 10 are local comics. The grand finale will take place at the Walkerville Theatre.

Organizer and Comedy Quarry owner Josh Haddon says proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Fools for Health Clown Doctor Program here in Windsor.
