More than 1,200 motorcyclists attended the annual Bob Probert Memorial Ride in Windsor.

The ride is named after the former NHL enforcer who died in 2010 from a massive heart attack.

His wife, Dani Probert, says she is overwhelmed by the support.

“It's wonderful to see our hockey family and our own community reach out” says Probert. “And now we have all these american friends coming out so we're going coast to coast and I love it!'

This year's ride captain was Probert’s friend and former teammate, Dave Hutchison, who talked about Bob's time while visiting soldiers in Afghanistan.

Hutchison adds he was happy to take part in this special event.

More than $121,000 was raised during Sunday’s event.

The event has now raised more than $750,000 for cardiac care programs in Windsor-Essex.
